Vignobles Leydet

Fred Leydet

Bio
Pomerol
Constructed piece by piece by the precedent generations since 1862, the Leydet vignoble (now with Fred Leydet behind the wines) is situated in the heart of Pomerol, a stones throw from Cheval Blanc, with the Chateau de Valois appellation pomerol & appellation saint émilion grand cru with the Chateau Leydet-Valentin – altogether around 16 hectares. I met Fred in 2018 thank’s to a mutual friend when we visited Chateau de Valois in the spring. Fred’s simplicity, humor & passion for organic wine-making had me returning several times to the Domaine since. The wines are pure, precise and generous. Certified organic since the 2015 vintage, and with the introduction of an élevage en amphore in 2019 Fred has added a modern touch to the wines and has employed are more hands-off method during vinification since taking over the reins in the late 90s.
